Monarch fans are invited to Loose Park on Saturday, September 23 from 10am to 1pm as we celebrate the mind boggling natural phenomenon that is the seasonal monarch migration.  Pretend to be a monarch flying a miniature migration route over the midwest to reach Kansas City, where you can observe caterpillars, chrysalises and adult butterflies up close, view monarch tagging demonstrations, and enjoy popsicles and facepainting.

Don’t miss the opportunity to take home a little bit of monarch habitat to your own yard.  We have received generous donations of milkweed and nectar plants from our partners at Prairie Whisper Gardens, Green Thumb Gardens, Applied Ecological Services, and Grow Native!  Free admission and activities, donations will be accepted to help KCNPI support more native plants in the landscapes of Kansas City.

Flyer download for email or print.
